Tui Class with Dianne Fussell

On the 14th July WQC had Dianne Fussell come and teach her wonderful Tui Class.

This is normally a 2 day class but we only had one day

so there was a lot to learn.  We started on the big Tui.

Dianne supplied a photo of the Tui on backing and 

then it was stitch lots & lots over the Tui with in free motion

with beautiful rayon threads.

A tui cut out  ready to go on wallhanging. 

 The feet get stitched once in place.

A second day would be great as there was only time to do the tui.

Daisies at My Window by Juliet

This quilt is going on tour in the World Quilt & Textile Exhibition.

The itinerary for the quilts in the World Quilt & Textile Exhibition is:  World Quilt Competition at Manchester, New Hampshire, August 16 - 19, Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza (Philadelphia) Sept. 13 - 16, Pacific International Quilt Festival (Santa Clara, California) October 11 - 13 and the World Quilt Show  (West Palm Beach, Florida) November 8 - 10.   So it will be December before the quilt comes back to NZ.

Bird 12x12 Challenge

May's 12x12 Challenge was Birds.

A lot of us missed May's meeting so we saw them all this month.

As usual there was a lot of variety.

May Meeting
