Committee's Challenge was circles
 Barrie showed these 2 quilts containing circles
 General Show and Tell
 The wedding ring table runner that grew
 A lovely quilt made with horse panels for the Riding for the Disabled.
 This became a duvet cover as fabric was very heavy already.
 Made to use up red fabric
 And leftovers made this smaller quilt.
 A violet quilt for granddaughter Violet
 Made with a special ruler
 This beauty is a gift for a relative overseas
 Owls and a pussy cat

Quilts Across the Ranges 2014

MARCH 14 - 16, 2014.

Quilts Across the Ranges 

Western Quilters' Circle annual 3 day show,
 featuring over 100 quilts and wall hangings,
 and the club’s annual challenge of “Circus”, 
plus the 2013 Hoffman Challenge quilts
and The Colours of New Zealand Challenge.

  3 merchants – Milton from Wright Fabrics, House of Patchwork and The Ribbon Rose.  Extensive Trading Table including quilts and wall hangings for sale.
  A display of Community quilts made for Age Concern.
  Raffle quilt.
  Yummy home-made refreshments available. 
 Wheelchair access.

Venue:   Kelston Community Centre (entire centre), Cnr. Great North and Awaroa Roads, Glendene, West Auckland.  10am - 4pm daily.  Entry: $5, children free.

We had our last meeting of the year and our Christmas breakup.

October Meeting

The months are flying by now.
  One more meeting and then it is Christmas.
The committees challenge this month was a quilt made with
traditional paper piecing.
Wedding rings from the Kerri Glen workshop
 Completed community quilts
 Craig showed this lovely kiwiana wall hanging
 Craig's magnificant Mariner's Compass.
 Andrea is making this for a very sick friend.
 Sue's log cabin quilt made from old shirts.
 Judithea made this for a friend using fabric from a bathroom.
Once washed she only managed to save the coloured strips.
 Pat made this in a class
 The raffle quilt completed.  Tickets on sale in January 2014
 Trudy showed some of the fabric she dyed in Bev Cooke's
class.
